The fact that Manson is still in jail when he has never killed anyone is quite typical of american justice. I don't buy the whole brainwashing bullshit for a second. People are responsible for their own actions. If someone said to you to kill someone would you do it, and if you did do it would that person be responsible for your actions?

Awfully sorry Swampie, but I have to disagree with your analysis. Charles Manson is every bit as responsible for Sharon Tate's appalling death as though he personally attended and wielded one of the knives. He rots in prison because that is exactly where he belongs to be. I hope he continues to rot for eternity. If it were up to me he would be held as Albert Speer was held, in a de facto state of solitary confinement. No one would talk to him. He would have no fellow prisoners to associate with. The guards would turn their backs whenever he came near. His food would be served through a hole in the wall. He would never hear a human voice.

I would make his life a living hell without even laying a finger on him in any violent way. I would do all in my power to keep him in good health because I wouldn't want him to die. That would be too easy and too kind. Charles Manson is about as vile a thing as can live behind a human face. I can imagine no more fitting or severe a punishment than to force that man to keep company only with his own soul.
