Way back, when I was about a just below average player, I'd never parred 2 holes in a row at that point of my hobby.

One very warm Summer afternoon while on leave from work, thought I'd have a mid week round on my own, so I went to the Portarlington course

I was doing about my average game that afternoon, came to the 15th hole, a par 4, got the ball onto the green in 3 and needed a 25 foot putt for par, and nailed it probably my best putt shot ever and was happy with that hole.

Came to the 16th, a par 4, and almost similar to the last hole, onto the green in 3 and about 20 feet from the hole.... nailed it also

I was very happy with that Felt like John Daly Can't say Tiger, too fit, But John was an overweight drinker and smoker, that's like me

Anyway, I was very happy about those 2 holes and off to the 17th I went,
The 17th is a par 3 with water before the green, So I teed off, over the water and onto the green in one and awesome 8 to 10 inches from the cup I was way over the moon, chance for birdie So I putted ..... The ball travelled about half the distance Blood pressure went to about 200 / 200 and then the rage built I missed an 8 inch putt after landing 2 holes before of 20 feet plus

That putter went flying through the air like a helicopter rotor and landed high up in the Gum Trees lining the hole, and didn't come down

It get's better On the 18th tee were a group of elderly ladies playing a round and waiting to tee off, the type of retired ladies with blue tinged hair They witnessed what I did and one giggled then it spread to the rest of the party

All I could do was grab my clubs and buggy, minus the putter and back to the car, like a spoiled child

Driving home all I could think was I need some kind of win, and then the bug hit got home, showered and made it to the bank just in time before it closed for the day, withdrew 2 G's, drove up to Melbourne and blew the lot playing Carribean Stud Poker and Roulette

Great day I had wouldn't trade it for anything
