Karla Osuna was an occasional Venezuelan TV reporter and television and beauty model .... she was the host of the TV series 'De todo un poco' in 2005, and that's about all I can tell you. However, she apparently found this limited form of celebrity to be not enough for her talents ....

So there she was in September, minding her own business, driving a truck down the highways and byways of Venezuela and other parts of South America, when after parking up outside the La Granada de Sotillo hotel located in Higuerote, Miranda, Caracas, she and her two male companions, found themselves surrounded by police and officials of the CICPC.

They had been tipped off by a whistleblower .... and they listened, as one of the suspects claiming that they were members of a maintenance crew for the hotel site, however this didn't actually succeed ..... so after securing our heroine and her compadres, they searched the truck and found more than 200 kilos of cocaine in ten green and black bin bags. They also impounded a Beretta handgun with thirteen bullets, a Kia car, and two Toyota Land Cruisers, as well as the Chevvie truck, all part of the gangs transport infrastructure.

Romina Jimena Araya Navarro was born in Maracay, Aragua state, Venezuela and is the last of my trio of Venezuelan beauties who have been 'silly girls'. She is better known in South America by her nickname 'Rosita' which she got for a character she played in a famous TV show. She started as a model on TV soaps on RCTV, first she was in the telenovela 'Negra consentida' (Consenting Blacks), then moved on to 'El amor las vuelve locas' ('Love makes them crazy').

She then managed to get one of those visa's to the US that these ladies always manage to obtain, ostensibly to study 'English' ... but strangely seemed to just result in her making her debut on television in the U.S, in the Spanish language soap opera 'El cuerpo del deseo' (The Body of Lust) which starred Mario Cimarro. She then returned to Venezuala where she appeared as a doctor in the soap opera 'Los misterios del amor' ('The Mysteries of Love'). She then guested in various TV shows she starred as 'Rosita' in the hit show '¡A que te ríes!' (Do You Larf!).

As we have seen before, in Venezuela a modicum of success seems to attract the wrong type .... and so its no surprise to find that like a moth attracted to the candle flame, she fluttered her eyelids towards one Héctor Guerrero Flores.

Unfortunately for her he was also a Venezuelan gang boss aka 'El Niño Guerrero' - 'The Child Warrior' (or maybe that's 'The baby faced gangster'). Well, it wasn't too long before he was behind bars and languishing in Tocorón Aragua state prison in northern Venezuela. She visited El Niño several times in jail before then helping him in his dramatic escape. They went on the run, but they were rearrested after a few weeks at large, not far from the prison from which Flores had escaped, when the 'drug lord' decided to pay a visit to his mother in the city of Valencia (Carabobo State) ... well at least he loves his mum

After a few days in prison she was released on bail and awaiting trial which is not expected to go well for her.

Carrie Fisher was born in Beverly Hills, California, and is the daughter of the singer Eddie Fisher and the actress Debbie Reynolds. So films were the only career she was going to follow .... and she began appearing with her mother in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of twelve. Needless to say, school was soon abandoned and she appeared as a debutante and singer in the hit Broadway revival 'Irene' in 1973, a show which starred her mother.

But, a bit of sense prevailed in 1973, and she attended London's Central School of Speech and Drama for 18 months to learn her craft. However she wasn't going to wait long, and as soon as she finished college she made her film debut in the comedy 'Shampoo' in 1975 starring Warren Beatty ..... then along came her 'nemesis' ..... In 1977, Fisher starred as 'Princess Leia Organa' in George Lucas's science fiction film 'Star Wars' opposite Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford, a part she later sarcastically claims to have obtained by "sleeping with some nerd" ......

I say Nemesis because its gone down in 'Hollywood folklore' that the movies in the Star Wars trilogy 'ruined' all the careers except Sir Alec Guinness and Harrison Ford (It could even be argued that George Lucas never really had the same sort of success in other movies). Apart from the 'Star Wars' trilogy, its hard to name a movie she was in ... it perhaps sums it up best that in the 2000 film 'Scream 3' Fisher played an actress mistaken for 'Carrie Fisher'! She's perhaps best known these days by fans of 'Family Guy', where she voices the minor character of 'Peter Griffins' female boss 'Angela'.

She has had some success outside of film acting, with one woman performances of her biographical works, and also as a script editor .... but the success her early films promised never really came, although she has appeared in over 80 productions.

Love .... starting with her declaration that she slept with someone to get the part in 'Star Wars', she had a number of high profile marriages and liaisons which included comedian Dan Aykroyd, and Singer Paul Simon. She also had a close relationship with singer James Blunt but apparently in a platonic sense.

She had a relationship with casting agent Bryan Lourd (and a child of his) only for him to dump her to be in a homosexual relationship ....

Death .... in February 2005, R. Gregory "Greg" Stevens, a lobbyist and advisor for the Republican Party, was found dead in Fisher's California home due to an overdose of OxyContin compounded by obstructive sleep apnea .... In an interview, Fisher claimed that Stevens's ghost haunted her mansion, which unsettled her: "I was a nut for a year," she explained, "and in that year I took drugs again".

Drugs .... which leads on to the fact that she had a strong addiction to prescription medication, and also developed 'Bipolar disorder', for which she had ECT treatment. However her drug issues go back decades, and she recently admitted that she had already developed a cocaine addiction during filming of 'Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back', and also survived an overdose. "Slowly, I realized I was doing a bit more drugs than other people and losing my choice in the matter".

In fact a picture has circulated the web which purports to show her with a 'coke finger' .... This is a finger in which the 'coke nail' is grown longer than the other nails, primarily for cocaine addicts to scoop drugs quickly instead of racking up lines, and is considered to be for addicts or 'fiends on the go'.

Sally Struthers was born in Portland, Oregon USA. She became and actress and in the late 1960's and early 1970's she had a string of successes. Notably in 1970 when she starred opposite Jack Nicholson 'In Five Easy Pieces'. She was also a dancer on 'The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour' where she was spotted and cast
as 'Gloria Stivic' in the 1970's sitcom, 'All in the Family' which brought her US stardom.

Sadly that was the pinnacle so to speak, and although she has worked regularly enough on TV and Stage, it wasn't until she starred as as Babette in the TV show 'Gilmore Girls' between 2000 and 2007, did she find another such vehicle. Her film career was rather flat by comparison.

She was in a nude sex scene with Jack Nicholson in 1970, which at the time brought her a bit of notoriety.

She was arrested in September 2012, in Ogunquit on a charge of operating under the influence (aka DUI), she was handcuffed at the scene, and then released after posting $160 bail and being scheduled for a court appearance on December 14, where a $500 fine and 90 day suspension of her license are likely due to her being a first time offender. Just as a matter of interest, the OUI charge is used in only a few states and encompasses more than just driving the vehicle. Persons under the influence can still be charged even if the car is stopped and not running.

Candy Chang was born in Hong Kong but her family emigrated to Canada where she majored in Graphic Design and Visual Arts(from the OCAD University). She first put her footsies on the celeb bottom rung, by entering the beauty peagent circuit .... winning the 'Miss Chinese Toronto' contest in 2009, and then gaining the second runner-up spot in the 'Miss Chinese International Pageant' in 2010.

From the giddy heights that this afforded her, she was offered employment on the Hong Kong TV channel TVB, firstly starring in 'All Star Glam Exam' and then in the medical soap opera 'The Hippocratic Crush' ... she apparently is cast as the Internal Medicine specialist trainee and Cheung Yat Hong's girlfriend (theres 3 seconds of your life you won't get back).

On 26 November 2012, some two weeks after her 23rd birthday, she was arrested on drug-related charges ... after a police operation team spotted a vehicle travelling at high speed and swerving from side to side. They assumed that the driver was drunk, the cops trailed the van and signaled the driver to pull over .... instead, he sped off. The police chased them in three cars before intercepting it at a roundabout.

The driver was a 32-year-old male identified only as a Mr Law, and his passenger was Ms Chang. The police searched the vehicle and found 12 packages of substances they believed to be drugs (Marijuana). Both Chang and Mr Law were detained on the spot, after they were seized from their vehicle. They were later released on bail.

Mr Law's relationship with Ms Chang was not immediately known and this led to feverish speculation that they were 'dating' in the Hong Kong media. Ms Chang later clarified that Law was "someone that a friend had asked to send me home. I fell asleep [upon entering the vehicle] and got into this unfortunate circumstance when I woke up," ". she wrote on Weibo (the Chinese facebook), while denying any romance with the driver ..... so we can see the line of defence she and her legal weasel are going for .... your on your own Mr Law.

Zhang Jing Si is another Hong Kong girl who has made the news recently. She claims on her Facebook page to be a professional model, although many sites are saying that this was a sudden conversion, possibly prompted by the following event.

In 2011 she had decided to enter the murky world of the beauty pageant, and as we all know this can spell trouble with a capital 'T' .... anyway, undaunted by the possibility that this big 'T' would come anywhere near her, she submitted her application to the 'Miss Commerce Hong Kong' pageant. This was the 44th session of the 'Commerce Expo', and the "Miss Commerce Pageant," was to be held at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

However, in one of those memory lapses, that seem to occur whenever these girls sign up to these events, she utterly forgot that she had posed in the buff in what she later described as 'Art' pictures. Luckily, there was some enterprising soul, who decided to be 'helpful' and refresh her memory by publishing these 'Art' pictures on the web.

In the wake of the leaked 'Art' pictures, beauty pageant organisers announced that Zhang Jing Si, "withdrew from the contest for her own for personal reasons", which was most certainly in response to the extensive local publicity the pictures attracted.

One of the contest judges was a well-known Hong Kong model (and CMA Vice-President) Shi Chen Jiarong, and she commented after the incident, that 'nude photos are sometimes difficult to define is obscene, or art, depends on how we look at it'. She said that 'one should consider the main theme of nude modeling, whether it is art or pornography, "but in a lot of foreign countries nude modeling is a very common thing" .... however this somewhat enlightened view was not echoed by the local press, particularly as public displays of 'pubic hair' are something of a taboo in mainstream Chinese culture .... especially open legged

To be fair, once the pussy was out of the bag (so to speak), she came back fighting, and said on her Facebook page that "that it was pure art and not sexually obscene claiming to be professional model who pose nude". She then said that if any professional photographers wanted to book her she was 'available for professional bookings, both photos and body painting'. To back this up she now features 'professionally shot' portfolio photos .... however, the pictures that caused all the fuss, are somewhat less professional looking.

Erin Moran was born in Born in Burbank, California, USA. She attended Walter Reed Junior High School and North Hollywood High School for another year. She had a couple of uncredited TV appearances as a young child, including adverts, and this seems to have pushed her towards acting as a career. Her first breakthrough was in 1969 as a regular child character 'Jenny Jones' in the TV show 'Daktari' (which also starred a crossed-eyed lion named 'Clarence' and a chimp named 'Judy' - you can tell I watched this ).

She was then in many child/juvenile roles ending with some appearances in the 'The Waltons' when she was aged 15. But throughout this period and up until her early twenties she was appearing in the show which made her name - 'Happy Days' - as Joanie Cunningham. Outside of this role, like many 'child stars', there was the inevitable career dip (too old for child parts, but too young for any 'adult' roles) ..... she filled this with irregular appearances as 'Tova' in a religious TV show 'Greatest Heroes of the Bible' (a TV genre that doesn't exist in the UK .... thank god). She then emerged from this career cocoon, butterfly like, in 'Galaxy Of Terror' in 1981 aged 21.

She attempted a 'Happy Days' spin off show 'Joanie Loves Chachi', but it was short lived, and after 'Happy Days' she found herself 'guesting' in shows like 'The Love Boat' and 'Murder, She Wrote' ..... the 1990's were a barren period, with just one TV appearance, and then nothing else until 2008 when she was in 'Celebrity Fit Club'. She then started the odd TV appearance. Her latest appearance was in the movie 'Not Another B Movie' ...... Her career covers 33 movies and TV shows. She has married twice, divorced once, no children.

Brother Can You Spare A Dime?

She has had numerous financial issues since the happy days of regular TV work .... she lived briefly in Tucker County, West Virginia in the late 1980's in the home of a relative of her first husband, there she was sometimes confused for a local resident "look alike". Her financial woes continued, when her house in Palmdale California was foreclosed upon in July 2010, after she and her husband failed to meet the repayments, and she had to be evicted. They went to stay with her mother in law, in an Indiana trailer park, but the mother-in-law kicked them out .... This was allegedly due to Moran's "nonstop partying." There were also reports that Moran and her husband were kicked out of a hotel because of the 'loud partying and reckless behavior'.

They have apparently been floating around from motel to motel ever since, and in September 2012, Moran and her husband were living in some run down motels in the Corydon, Indiana area. They had apparently spent all the $65,000 from the settlement, on drinking and partying.

I Fought The Law .... And The Law ??.

In a desperate throw of the dice, in April 2011, she and three of her Happy Days co-stars, Don Most, Anson Williams and Marion Ross, plus the estate of Tom Bosley (who died in 2010), filed a $10 million breach-of-contract lawsuit against CBS, the owners of 'Happy Days' .... it was for merchandising royalties they believed they were owed (Under the actors' contracts, they were supposed to be paid five percent from the net proceeds of merchandising if a single actor's image was used, and half that amount if the cast members were pictured in a group).

CBS said that they were only owed $8,500 and $9,000 each, most of it from slot machine revenues .... some slot machines at casino's featured character from "Happy Days". The judge ruled that they weren't owed the millions claimed, but they each (and presumably the other actors from the show) were owed some back revenues. They all settled out of court, with Moran getting around $65,000 dollars in July 2012. They will continue to get some small royalties for image rights on the slots .... one can imagine that those slots will soon be phased out.

Not all the former 'Happy Days' stars agreed to the legal action, Scott Baio ('Chachi' in Happy days and the spin off), who is still working regularly said that “I don’t like lawyers very much. That show was very good to me. Paramount was very good to me.” He is still working on TV and has refused to help Ms Moran .... “I feel bad, but sometimes you make your bed and you have to sleep in it”

Vanessa Macias was born San Antonio, Texas and her entire claim to fame is that she was a contestant in 'The Amazing Race' on TV in 2001. Where she was the partner of 'Ralph', and who were the 8th couple eliminated, or they came 4th, I can't quite work it out .... and don't really care.

Its hard to quantify such a go getter... she describes her self as an 'actress', 'political operator', 'TV Hostess' and 'freelance writer' ..... needless to say, no one has ever heard of her. Well that's not strictly true, as she is described in the local press reporting on her latest escapade as a 'San Antonio media personality', who is 'known nationally for her colorful stint on “Amazing Race” ...'. She was or is hired to co-host KCYY-radio’s morning show .....

She was arrested for driving while intoxicated in October 2012 .... she was originally stopped for a broken tail light around 2 a.m on a Friday night. However according to the SAPD police report, she exhibited signs of drunkeness, such as slurred speech. She was asked to take sobriety tests, she refused, and was taken to the station where she was forced to undergo a mandatory blood test.

Macias told them that she had consumed just three mixed drinks containing soda water and Vodka while at the 'Jason Aldean' concert earlier that evening, and had nothing else despite going on to a popular watering hole, the 'Men’s Palace' until the early hours.

She failed the blood test, and the police booked her for misdemeanor DWI, but she was released on $1,000 bail a few hours later.

Senait Ashenafi is Ethiopian-born and who attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, and graduated with a degree in Drama in 1988. She has turned her attention to every strand of celebdom by working as an actress, dancer, singer, and model. She is perhaps best known for playing ''Keesha Ward' in General Hospital from 1994 to 1998. She has also guested in such shows as such as 'A Different World', 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air', and 'Mad About You'. She has one film credit, when she starred in 'Honey Bee' in 2001.

Still as we have seen before, minor celebdom doesn't stop bad behaviour, and in November 2012 she had a serious hissy fit at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in Texas. Apparently, as everyone was boarding the flight, she started getting upset about being stuck in coach class (instead of being bumped up to first class).

And top of that 'complete trauma', her baggage was then moved all the way to the back of the plane and put into an overheard carrier nowhere near where she was sitting Well that was too much for a putative superstar and she kicked off .... however along with the verbals, she also apparently pushed a crew member. That was enough for her to be kicked off the plane in the middle of the runway. From there, police officers greeted her and arrested her for public intoxication.

Andrea Brooke Ownbey was born in Dalton, Georgia USA and is a model and 'stage artiste', who gained her claim to fame via frequent appearances on the 'Howard Stern' show (a program not syndicated on UK television), which is what's known as a 'shock jock' show. Back in 2002 she was crowned 'Miss Howard Stern', a title she holds to this day (they never bothered to hold it again).

It was her first show that she is probably best known for, because they named her the “World’s Dumbest Stripper”, after she scored an 88 on an IQ test taken while on the show

However this led to appearances in 4 episodes of a reality TV show on 'Howard TV'. Oh, and some very small parts in a few very forgettable movies .... 'Bitchin' Blonde' in 2005, 'Dorm of the Dead' in 2006, and 'Horrorween Zombie' in 2011. In the meantime she also been a stripper or burlesque act of some sort.

Drinkies and cars don't mix .... About three years ago she was involved in a near fatal car crash, when she slammed her car into a telephone pole while driving about 60 mile per hour. She and her passenger were thrown from the car and she landed head first on the ground, and was given only a 2% chance of survival. After that accident she was left with a medal plate in her head.

But undeterred, this year she was arrested again in Chattanooga, Tennessee for drunk driving. According to police reports she slammed her car into another vehicle and didn’t even realize it. A local law office was nearby, heard the crash and rushed to the scene to discover a very drunk Ms Ownbey. The report states that she was so drunk she had no idea she had hit another car, and that she not only smelt of alcohol, but the cops also found marijuana in her car. The police conducted both a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer test, she failed both miserably (the report states that she blew a .178, well over the .08 legal limit).

She awaits the wheels of justice to turn .....
