My test post was jpg files and is still viewable without issue.

Maybe your issue is jpeg which seems to be what Photoshop is reporting

Uh, no.

JPEG 2000 with file extension JP2 is a different file format than JPEG with file extension JPG or JPEG.

Yet, it is clear that JPEG 2000 has not replaced JPEG. Many people are unaware of JPEG 2000, likely a result of less than universal support for it by applications and file hosts.

Replaying, with more detail, what I wrote before about what went wrong:

The original files I had were all JPEG 2000 format with JP2 file extensions. Due to the lack of support for JPEG 2000 files on Pixhost, I used Apple Preview to convert them from JPEG 2000 format to JPEG format. The Apple created JPEG files were broken in some way that prevented them from working with Imagevenue, Pixhost, and Photoshop. Some applications may work with these "bad" files by just silently ignoring problem sections in the file; e.g., Phoenix Slides.

The good news is that after using a different application to convert the JPEG 2000 files to JPEG files, I was able to upload all 32 pages of Parade (UK), number 1206, 19 January 1963 to the Complete Magazine Scans forum.

Looks like imgbox is malfunctioning, i get errors on anyhting i try to upload

Existing imgbox images seem unaffected though.

Imgbox was completely down for about six hours today. Then it came back and uploads were working for about a minute. Then it started doing that.

Noticing pixhost having more troubles, was using using them until recently. Not sure which is the best host to use these days for "reliability" ; suggestions please .

either the image doesn't show up at all in the post, or when you click on it no image shows up

Still occurring. Checked Imagebam on one of the "Is it down?" sites and they reported it was down as well. Is affecting Imagevenue as well.

All scans are from my own magazines purchased new, plus a few second hand ones purchased early on.
