I think you're being overly condescending and stereotyping towards college athletes. As a group, they are no more or less intelligent than any of the rest of us. I know someone who started as a running back for a major D1 football program...one that is considered one of the "Blue Bloods." He finished a pre-law degree in 4 years...while playing football full time...and was in his first year of law school while still playing football. He now has his own law firm. I know of, have never met, another football player for that same program who finished a degree in business admin in 3 years before leaving for the NFL. As a whole, collegiate athletes do better in college than their non-athlete counterparts for the simple reason that they have to. If they don't keep up their grades, they lose their eligibility/scholarships.

Yes, there are dumb athletes just like there are dumb run of the mill college students who are there only because they are delaying having to get a real job for a few years.

What is the possibility that any of the parents will get jail time - ? Damn near zero.

$250,000 is the maximum fine - ? I don't think that will cause them any discomfort.

Shame, ridicule and lost business opportunities are the main punishment. I hope they publicize all of these families on every media platform.

I can't help thinking that this is a rather classic morality tale, yet at the same time, wouldn't it be true to say that these two girls are being singled out for something thousands of other wealthy and unprincipled American families have been doing for generations? Was George W Bush Harvard material? I mean, really? Donald Trump Jnr went to Pennsyvania State University purely on academic merit? The bloke needs a guide dog to find his own braincells. Edward Kennedy went to Harvard and got suspended for three years for cheating in an exam. He spent the down time in the Army but somehow never managed to reach Korea.

I can't defend what the parents did, but I am a little bit wary of people wanting to victimise the two daughters, vacuous airheads though they may well be. If they have actual ability to study and get a degree, I'd like them to be allowed to do it. No "extra credit" from yacht trips with the 60 year old college president though - only hard work and actual ability to think and learn permitted. They didn't do the crime; it is alleged that their mother did. I would leave them alone and let them work out their own salvation, the hard way, and if they have the ability and commitment to do it, then have some mercy, let it go and let them have a life.

If by your assertion it doesn't belong, then about half of the replies in this thread in the last nearly 4 pages also do not have anything to do with the thread topic, replies like her YouTube video or how she can still make money being a porn star or a stripper or how another member wants to audition her for those roles, etc., etc.

You see, if you dont tell us that, a lot of us will not spontaneously know what your point is. You cant merely assume we know what degree Olivia [Loughlin] was enrolled to study because a lot of us wont know that, having never previously heard of her.
