Noticeable today the surgery we went for our flu jabs was packed. Ours was booked for 3 O'Clock but we arrived half an hour earlier and waited to 3.10pm. They gave my dad the triple vaccine as he was over 65 and my mother got one too. Not sure if I did but I have to go back in December for my diabetic check up and my mother gets a shingles jab as well-sheesh! more needles and no doubt I will have blood taken. Important they get this flu jab right because last year/early this year we were all caught out by the strain that came from Australia.

Being diabetic you have to have one now (as does my mother who also has it) and I don't want the flu in any form. I had red flu once as a kid, I got time off school but I felt like I was dying!!

Happy Birthday BLUE PETER-the world's longest running children's television programme starting in 1958 with Leila Williams and Christopher Chase-it was only supposed to last a few weeks...and here we are 60 yrs later. Such a shame we lost John Noakes earlier this year, he was a real stalwart and we all remember(those of us who watched as kids) him jumping out of a plane with the Red Devils parachute team AND climbing Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square without any safety harness or helmet. Made great television.

Yes, even as a slightly older child, I often found it most engaging.

Apparently there were some blokes and educational bits on it too!
