Today's bit of feigned outrage comes from the University of Wyoming.

Their sports teams are called "The Cowboys". Their logo is an image of a person, hat in hand, riding a bucking bronco (similar to the one the US Mint put on the commemorative quarter for Wyoming). Their mascot is called "Pistol Pete" who, oddly enough, is costumed as a traditional cowboy (ten gallon hat, chaps, boots, etc).

The University has adopted a new marketing slogan: "The world needs more cowboys". A spokesman said the university wanted to throw away the stereotype of cowboys updating what it means and looks like to be one. "A cowboy is not what you are, but who you are" the spokesman is quoted as saying.

As expected, knickers were knotted. The end of the world was prophesied.

Native American "cultural specialists" worry the slogan would make non-whites not feel good about themselves. Professor Donal O'Toole said the slogan was 'sexist'. Professor Christine Porter said the slogan sounds outdated. "It's very 1950s to think that 'boy' somehow includes 'girl'".

It's not 1950.. it's 2018.. where students are free (if not encouraged) to choose whatever gender they want to be every morning when they get out of bed.

What do you say to that, professor? Despite all this, the new slogan is still set to launch this fall. And, I'm sure to the chagrin to those outraged, the logo and mascot will remain the same.

Wasn't he the one who was going to impose a price hike on his customers as an Obamacare surcharge, but found out that a lot of his customers supported the healthcare reform by voting with their feet when he attacked it?

She probably recorded it so she could replay it and be offended again whenever she wanted.

You are absolutely correct. The left long ago recognized that they cant win using logic, so they have reverted to subterfuge and an attempt to control "language" thru PC culture.

Its the old adage, if you cant control the result, attempt to control the process.

No. She recorded it so she could play it for their employers and have these guys disciplined or fired. I am not there and don't know what happened to piss her off to take this action. My decades of experience working in American corporations tells me that these two must have been world class jerks to aggravate somebody enough to go to all this trouble. Obviously, the bosses knew these guys were bad actors and fired them.

The world of professional sports is filled with atavistic jerks. The only reasons for women to hang out there is that they either like this type of guy or have some sort of groupie thing going on and are looking to have sex with athletes.

There are people of bad faith all over the political spectrum. The left has its set of PC control and shaming fanatics. The right prefers to insult those who disagree and seeks to suppress evidence that contradicts their dogma. Both extremes are known to murder dissenters when in possession of political power.
