It has come into the language here following an advertising campaign that used the line "you either love it or hate it". It is actually industrial waste of sorts - the dregs left over from brewing. A "marmite" itself is actually the type of earthenware pot pictured on the label.

Certain bands get put under the heavy metal grouping but aren't really .
AC-DC and aerosmith for example .
