No, they do very nicely on their own and with no help from us.

It's such a shame that voting is compulsory in this country and finable if you don't vote.
Maybe that's their only chance of decreasing the deficit?

I'd sorely love to see a federal election where the only votes cast were those for themselves.

Well, the main point of my post you did quote was the bit you didn't .... If you look back it was more a friendly poke at us being a Monarchy

see, that's why I can't really stand the political crap, my main point and using the grin smileys was my point, but only the minor parts were conveniently used, when it suits them

Yes effCup-remind me once again how many prime ministers you've had lately....must be about time you changed them again. Australia-the lucky country-where anyone can be prime minister.....for about 10 minutes...or weeks...meanwhile..on our side we just get on with stable government and a stable economy.....and dominating rugby....

As my dad would say when people raised this issue. "It's not compulsory to vote in Australia, never has been. It's only compulsory to get your name crossed off at the polling booth."
Although I do think the current POTUS is a compelling argument for compulsory voting.

I read that your administration authorised to destroy the Tasmania island forest.
Are you not disturbed by this greedy and primitive politic?

It just depends on who you talk to. Australian Forest Products Association says it doesn't go far enough and 'we'll all be rooned before the year is out!'
The Wilderness Society on the other hand, says it goes too far and is the End Of Civilization as we know it.
In truth it's a middle-ground compromise between environmental concerns and jobs.

But this island is almost a unique wildlife sanctuary?
