Respire (2014)
Respire ( means Breathe ) 2014
" It is tale of two teenage girls who develop an intense and dangerous friendship. Charlie is a 17-year-old girl tortured by doubt, disillusionment and solitude. When the beautiful and self-confident Sarah arrives and the two become inseparable, Charlie is thrilled to feel alive, fulfilled and invincible in their intense friendship. But as Sarah tires of Charlie and begins to look elsewhere for a new friend, their friendship takes an ominous turn." Once again - I am blown away by how good French Films really are.. this was billed as a Lesbian Film , but really its an intense friendship and mixed emotions film ..........The lead actress Joséphine Japy ( Charlie ) was really excellent - and the emotional love affair actress was Lou de Laâge ( Sarah ) was just as good well worth watching - I won't reveal the ending , but its not your usual Hollywood Rubbish - Last edited by 73north; July 15th, 2017 at 07:44 PM.. |

The Omega Man. I realise now Heston couldn't act, he just played the same 70's badass over and over. Still it is a better movie the Will Smith's remake.

S O B (1981)
The first time I watched this (many years back), I freely admit it was just to see Julie Andrews to go topless (cue obligatory gif).... But watching this lament at the movie industry today, seeing so many stars no longer with us (William Holden, Larry Hagman, Robert Loggia, Richard Mulligan, Robert Vaughn, Shelley Winters, the director Blake Edwards), S.O.B. also feels like a window to another time.

Gawd , a tad rough loose
He`s made some darn decent (Sorry for swearing ) pictures and acted well in them you know . Films such as Major Dundee , Soylent Green , Planet of the Apes , Will Penny , Khartoum , The Agony and the Ecstasy plus The Naked Jungle !. To name but seven !! So there Let`s be honest watching a turd smeared across a window pane slowly drying over a long weekend, is better than watching the majority of Will Smith`s cinematic performances Just struggled through Like it I did not. Sure the actors are fine , pacing ok and the direction more than competent. Was the lousy story I loathed. Our lead over the course of the movie finally realises that being spied upon twenty four seven in this our brave new invasive world , is something to embrace rather than fight against. Hmmmm Facebook , Homeland , MI5 , MI6 etc propaganda much. Yeah right A lack of all privacy is something to welcome. Anybody who believes that better suck rope now as they`re obviously little more than sheep crossed with lemmings .

Another highbrow classic from Fred Olen Ray
Dark Universe (1993) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106666/ On his way back to Earth the space shuttle Nautilus runs into what they thought was a meteor storm but it turns out to be alien spores. The one-man mission control loses contact with the ship however it crashes back to the Everglades and the pilot has transformed into something suitably menacing. Brilliant low budget SF nonsense https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss2YKo22QLM
