Ant McPartlin, one half of presenting duo Ant and Dec, has checked himself into rehab for a prescription drug and alcohol problem, according to The Sun on Sunday.

The TV star says he has been going through a "difficult time" and the newspaper says he will now spend a couple of months getting treatment.

"The first step is to admit to yourself you need help," Ant said.

"I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I am truly sorry."

According to the newspaper some of Ant's problems began with a knee injury that didn't heal properly, leaving him in pain.

It's thought the medication he took to deal with that pain, then became an issue for him.

"I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time," said Ant.

"I've spoken out because I think it's important that people ask for help if they're going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery."

A vehicle has struck pedestrians "leaving a number of casualties" in north London, police said.

One person has been arrested following the incident on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park.

It's probably simple enough it's a tactic beloved by militant Islamic scum so a twisted Brit possibly fed up with our leaders pandering to their twattish beliefs may have felt it is time and given them a taste of their own medicine.

Finsbury Park has long been renowned as a breeding place for such vermin with shitheads like Abu Hamza who was an Imam there, so it is hardly surprising it was chosen.

They could be said by many to have brought this on themselves by allowing the likes of Abu Hamza to freely preach there.

If that was a Muslim driver he would have got out and carried on the slaughter, the driver was apparently detained by locals so let's see how the story pans out.

Piers Morgan has just mentioned on breakfast telly that he has a cheap and obedient housemaid whose relatives lived in grenfall tower .
The last week must have been incredibly traumatic for him in his multi million north London des res.

According to the BBC, there are two mosques in that area - Finsbury Park (with its notorious past) and the Muslim Welfare House. According to the Guardian the attack took place outside the Muslim Welfare House on Seven Sisters Road. The Islamic centre and mosque has released a statement, appealing for calm:

The suspect allegedly screamed "I'm going to kill all Muslims" before he was tackled by members of the public. and witnesses have told Sky News that an imam protected the driver of the van from angry members of the public until the police could arrive.

Sadly we're now in the realm of an eye for an eye....
