A dean at Yale University has been placed on leave after students objected to comments she wrote in online reviews of local businesses, and the university learned of what it calls “multiple reprehensible posts.”

June Chu, dean of one of Yale’s residential colleges, wrote on Yelp about a theater not having “sketchy crowds (despite it being in new haven),” a cinema having “barely educated morons trying to manage snack orders for the obese and also try to add $7 plus $7.” She wrote, “I guess if you were a white person who has no clue what mochi is, this would be fine for you,” and, in a review of a Japanese restaurant, ” … if you are white trash, this is the perfect night out for you!”

The Yale Daily News, which broke the story about her online reviews last weekend, was also first to report that she had been placed on leave.

When is the last time anyone actually told any group 'no'? Especially in a scenario like this?

He or she still would have to mobilize and organize the students which you got to remember is not easy considering the
cost of attendance is anywhere between 31-57 grand per year depending if you are in state or not(parents do not like to hear their child got kicked out for protesting shit) and speaking of the money they are not attending for free and just like anything you are paying for, especially that much you want to make sure you are treated fairly.

I don't think well of people who are prejudiced against people because of race. The only way for prejudiced people to change is for them to decide for themselves that all human beings should be treated fairly. We can't force them to think that way.

Rosa Parks

I'm just disgusted that these kids are using the name of Rosa Parks, an American civil rights icon, to push their agenda.
I believe the black kids pf decades past who went through real racism and pain, like Ruby Bridges (the first African-American child to attend an all-white public elementary school in the American South), were seeking EQUALITY, not this self-victimization garbage.

Whoa. If Rosa was still living she would have been honored to have had student housing in her name. People usually would have donated tens of millions to have such a honor bestowed upon themy. Myou suspicion is that Rosa Parks was the safe name they would agree to. I willing to bet they were trying to name the place "Huey P. Newton" student housing given where the school is. Also given what they are paying disrespect should not be tolerated. The students choose to attend there and pay tuition the least the school can do is make sure the students feel safe and respected.

A report on radio 5 sports news this evening. Australian tennis officials have said that the Margaret Court Stadium will not have it's name changed? Why should they even consider this? Because Court has stated that same sex marriage is wrong. Oh the horror.

No more women's double for her

Not saying they should change the name of the stadion (that'll teach them to name stuff after people who aren't dead yet), but I do wonder why so many people who "have found god" turn into such bigots.

Maybe she's not a bigot. Marriage is a sacrament of the church not a Government responsibility.

The French have the right idea, everyone gets together in a civil ceremony and is then married in the eyes of the state. If you want you can then go before your God according to his rules.

oh I see. Then this might be a misunderstanding on my part.

As i think anyone should be allowed to have a civil marriage, of course the church has the right to ban gay marriages. Their club, their rules (not that i agree with them, but that's not relevant here).



But i wonder if what she claimed was her own opinion or if she was just parrotting the bible.
