Exactly the Tories can just laugh at their natural base and leave voters and say 'Well who else are you going to vote for?' the same as New Labour did to their Northern working class base.

I do substantially share your views.

However, I think what is new about our demography is that, at the same time as people live longer, the birth rate has steadily fallen. Add to that the pensionable age has not kept pace - it should probably be higher even than is planned and sooner. Wage rates are also suffering, so tax take inevitably follows the downward spiral.

We have been able to some extent to plug the gaps with high rates of immigration and migrant workers. But then this thing called "brexit" happened....

So now what?

One place that May can't rely on votes is Halifax, judging her reception yesterday from people. I can't ever see Jeremy Corbyn being PM but I can see him picking up votes from people in this election.

I noticed the ex-Page 3 girl Jenny Blyth is on Facebook enthusing about Tommy Robinson, the once leader of the EDL(English Defence League) saying that he is misunderstood and not racist at all-surely that was once said of Nick Griffin and he was found out and ridiculed, so she is pretty misguided in her thinking. Trouble is she has her followers or minions as I call them who agree with practically everything she says-pathetic really and it needs someone to tackle her head on and put her in her place...trouble is no one has the guts to do it for fear of her minions calling them names. Shame really I was a big fan of hers once-perhaps it is best to remember her as she was, not as she is now.

Julian Assange is still holed up at the Ecuadorian embassy in London yet he has been sort of cleared by Swedish court of a rape charge from I think about 5 years ago...BUT we are spent over Ł14m in 2015 to keep him(and continue to do so)-he knows if he steps out of there the Police are obliged to arrest him so he is costing this country a lot of money whilst he is still there.

Greenman;

1 The protest in Halifax against May was a small number of political activists.

2 I do not know who Jenny Blyth is, but does she really have a following who are prepared to insult other people because she says so?

3 Assange has not been cleared of anything, the charges have timed out due to Swedish law. He stated that he was never charged. He didn't state that he was not charged because he was hiding in the Ecuadorian Embassy.

I wish I could totally agree, but can you honestly imagine 65 or 70 year old police, fireman or troops? Even if we are generally living longer, most people have simply had enough of work by their mid 60s and think they have an entitlement to an escape from the wonderful world of work. To the best of my knowledge, most of Europe thinks this is the right way to do things and many of our neighbours also pay much better pensions than we do.

And of course, by putting up the retirement age, it also makes things increasingly difficult for much younger people starting out. As I recall, there were well-developed proposals on the table during Thatcher's reign when very high unemployment was a major issue, to lower the retirement age specifically to deal with this.

Default The ‘reality’ of virtual reality pornography

Experts at Newcastle University, UK, are investigating how virtual reality is changing the experience of pornography.

Through headsets such as the Facebook owned Oculus Rift and Playstation VR, the technology allows the user to become an active part of these ‘new’ sexual experiences.

Presenting their research at the CHI 2017 conference, the Newcastle team say the growing popularity of VR technologies that put users into experiences where previously they were an onlooker, could mean the extreme, degrading or even abusive imagery in pornography becoming all the more ‘real’.

My eye is a lot better almost back to normal thanks to the Optrex and warm water. Only use for tea bag is for tea.

Conservatives launched their Election manifesto -well I say manifesto more a list of promises that we all know they will break and probably the biggest work of fiction since the Protect and Survive manual in the 1980's - that was crap and so it this.
I'm glad your eye is getting better but I doubt whether it will change your one-eyed support of Liverpool and being anti-Trump and anti-Conservative.
