Sun up this morning was about 4.30 am. Managed to get to the gym at 6am. Finished work at 2.30pm Sunny day so decided, sorry was persuaded, to go to the pub. Thankfully I stuck to the lowish alcohol beers then ciders.
Anyway, got home, surprisingly no earache from mrstamsmith, had a nice homemade curry and I am now on the dark rums and coke. I know I am going to feel terrible tomorrow. Work will be a nightmare. Had a treat - then some bad news
Had to drop by local Nisa supermarket on way home to pick up a Hermes parcel delivery.
Saw this 375ml bottle for £4.99.  Decided to have it for a treat, put it in the freezer for 75 minutes and opened and sank it quite rapidly. Just feeling at peace and the phone rang at 6:30, call from an old friend. Told me that a well-loved former colleague and good friend had died. He was only 66 in January and had been diagnosed with cancer which had already spread to lungs and oesophagus. That's now seven close people in 2017. |
