McGuiness topped this list, when you have seen the sights I have mentioned previously on this subject, picked up the severed hand of a one year old girl, I went, broke down and cried with the Padre after that one, you cheer the death of people like him and pray he has been replaced by someone without blood on their hands.

I'm not worshipping Martin McGuinness or the IRA for that matter. But there is a reason why McGuinness and thousands of his countrymen joined the ranks of the IRA. We have to look at the whole picture and stop taking things out of its historical context. The conflict in NI was not just a war between its Catholics and Protestants and their paramilitaries. You can't ignore the role and crimes of the British army, intelligence and the pro-British Royal Ulster Constabulary. Many murders committed by loyalist paramilitaries were covered up by the RUC and British intelligence. We should also talk about the murders ordered in London. It goes on and on. The experience of the Irish since the partition of Ireland in 1921 was a nightmare, though it began much earlier. But we don't have to go back to the plantation era now. Long story short, McGuinness gave peace a chance. He decided to lay down his guns and to build a better future for everyone in NI. Even a hatemonger like Ian Paisley could appreciate that and alter his own views. Martin McGuinness was not a saint but who is in a bloody war? Hopefully that war is over now for good and Martin McGuinness is among those people who deserve some credit for it.

Here's a good article about him: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...nness-obituary

Even after all this time and on top of all that happened to Colin Parry he still retains a real dignity even if Martin McGuinness has passed on. I felt for him when he lost his son in the terrible Warrington Bomb but did eventually meet with McGuinness and although they got on well he never regarded him as a friend and naturally could never forgive what he did(or was implicated in) As I've stated here in the past I could have lost my mother in the Harrods bomb in the 80's - if her friend hadn't cancelled at the last minute I shudder to think what life without her would have been like. I thank god everyday that they didn't meet up.

The directive is reportedly the result of a security threat and could be announced as soon as Tuesday.

The British government has followed suit and announced a cabin baggage ban on laptops on direct passenger flights to the UK from Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.

The ban, which also applies to tablets and DVD players, follows a similar US move affecting eight countries.

Downing Street said it followed talks on air security and was "necessary, effective and proportionate".

US officials said bombs could be hidden in a series of devices.

The ban applies to any device larger than 16cm long, 9.3cm wide or 1.5cm deep. It includes smart phones, but most fall inside these limits.

And if you are flying into Luton Airport, take note of this video:

That's assuming your expensive tablet or Nikon camera haven't already vanished from your luggage.

Ah! But what penguins don't get, is that you never hear of a plane crashing into the air, only the ground! So if you jump out before it approaches the ground...........
