Those "aliens" sound remarkably like some humans, and not at all "alien".

If this really were "far in our future" then I suspect there may not be many minerals, or clean water, left, at least so long as we humans continue our "alien" ways.

Perhaps we should get all the "alien" visitors to eat vegemite? I'm sure that'd solve some sort of problem... somewhere.

If a civilization were advanced enough to build starships they would have the technology to clean our dirty oceans and then drain them, and they would have the technology to extract what ever they wanted from the Earth's core!

The theory is that such races would have evolved to a higher plain, so they would not exterminate us.

Really we are protected by a couple of factors. First, it turns out that there is a lot of water in the galaxy, which is not surprising in that water is such a stable compound and composed of the most common element. Secondly, we live in a backwater of our galaxy. It is probably not worth their trouble to investigate us, or they have already checked us out and decided to leave us quarantined.

Notice the movement to resume believing the world is flat so we can continue to feel important.

So: humans saved from themselves by aliens? Isn't that just old time religion?

Default I'm confused...

It's great to know that Erich Von Daniken still lives on...but what happened to Australia in this thread?

I don't believe in the "Star Trek" universe. I think life in our galaxy is rare, and intelligent life is even rarer. Maybe in this entire galaxy of over 200 billion stars there are only a handful of intelligent races, and maybe none of them have spaceflight. That's why we have so many sci-fi movies and t.v. shows. We try to think up what we would like to believe exists in our universe when in fact there is almost nothing out there. Anyway who needs aliens when we have Quokkas!

Naughty TM - you are subverting the subject again.

This thread is supposed to be about Australia, not intelligent life!
