Red face Log-in problem remains

I hope this is the place to mention this:

I am still getting this error immediately after every log-in--
vBulletin Message
Could not find phrase 'invalid_redirect_url_x'.

There is nothing else on the VEF page at this point and I need to reload the browser page to get regular VEF again.

If you need more information, please ask!

Information has already been forwarded and tech is aware of the issue.

A small update:

Reloading the browser page (at least in Firefox) no longer works—I need to either open a new or refresh a different VEF front page.

(I have no idea when this might have changed. )

Could be a firefox issue.

I have the problem here as well that when my cookies expire to search/submit the recommended "reload page" does not do the trick, but I think it was always like that. I also have a similar (?) issue with ImageVenue: when my session there has (been) timed out and requires a login that login itself does not work properly, I have to subsequently logout and then login again to get the thing functioning.

I suspect the right setting in firefox could get rid of the issue, but life's too short...

We might be experiencing to different phenomena, beutelwolf.

This has become a problem for me only since early- to mid-January this year (hence my update that this is a "new" development) and it only occurs immediately after logging-in to VEF--when the vBulletin message appears--so any cookies can only be a few seconds old.

Does this seem to be your experience, too?

What version of Firefox have you got e.d.? I had the same issue intermittently on v34 when the server loads were in orbit after the DOS attack but it's been fine since in v35 for some time now.

One experiment to try is changing the noscript settings (if you have it ) so that it doesn't automatically allow scripts for VEF. I have mine permanently set not to allow it because I don't have the bandwidth for the flashy graphics and suchlike. If it works, you can always temporarily allow scripts once your're past the login.

This is probably less helpful than I hoped, but nonetheless: I used to have that problem too, but not any more (running Fx34.0.5) so I thought I'd see if I could recreate it. I made a clean test profile in Firefox and lo and behold, there's the message.

I thought, aha, that means some setting in my current profile must be fixing the problem, but - here's the unhelpful part - when I tried to log onto the forum again in my clean profile, without having made any changes, I didn't see the message. When I re-cleaned/re-created the profile, I still didn't see it. When I rebooted the router so I had a different IP address, I still didn't see it. When I did both these things at once, still no. So why did I see it that first time? What is persisting that isn't in the profile and isn't keyed to my IP address? (Obviously I'm still logging in as MrInBetween, but that was true before I got the message, when I was logging in from my usual profile.)

Hi 40+,

I'm using Firefox v35.01 now. (The version did change (again) in the last couple months but I do not know if that is an issue.)

For that matter, other than basic updates I haven't made any significant changes to my browser, settings, or OS since early last summer.

Keep trying (I don't envy your predicament ) and keep us posted. I am very curious of what solutions and questions you find.

Okay, starting again - just ignore the question I asked, as it doesn't seem to be applying to the current IP address I've got: although I don't necessarily know what is causing your problem, what could cause a similar one is setting session cookies rather than persistent ones for vintage-erotica-forum.com. Are you doing that?
