I wouldn't say that - it's more that you don't tend to get any long periods without rain, because the defining characteristic of British weather is that it's always changing. At least, that used to be true, but the last few years (with the misbehaviour of the Jet Stream) people have gone from complaining about the unpredictability of the weather to the fact that it will keep doing the same thing for weeks on end. Never happy, us.

Then God help you if you actually try to defend yourself or your property.
If he has any grasp of the law, the c*nt will "appear" to be the injured party.

Oh it is not that difficult to understand but in the US we can still own guns, for now at least, but if that ever goes away there are a lot of home defense options. Swords, knives, black powder guns, bow and arrows, cross bows, hell even a boomerang. I even have an old Scottish bar keeps "tommy knocker" ? made of teak that was used to keep order. So while I think guns are best for home defense there are other options.
Oh and if the person that breaks in is dead after he/she breaks in is there a problem over there?
