Dust bunnies.
No joke, the happy wife and me have been away the last couple of days. But when returning to our place they all said hello. Everywhere. Great to know she knows how to use the vacuumer. I always fail with this strange thing..

Cold callers/Nuisance callers.
It depends on the mood I'm when they happen to call. At anyone time, my persona's have included (When answering the phone of course) Beavis and Butthead (Are you threatening me?) The owner of a double-glazing company, where I talk over them and try to sell them some crap.
That can make them very angry...and then they start to lose it and the threats start, until I inform them that Whilst they're shouting I''m tracking them and if they are in a foreign country, my hacker friends will find their company/operation and make their lives hell. All bullsh*t of course, but quite a few start flapping pull the connection and never call again. I've been the owner of a Sex-Shop, and in a Bruno (Sacha Baron-Cohen) Accent start asking them how big do they want the vibrator? This one works a treat if the Call-Center's is in Asia, and the caller is male,. they get very embarrassed, and disconnect, sharpish. Above all, they should never call late in the evening, especially when I'm on my forth glass of red wine, by then, I'm really in the mood. Only downside is Mrs Sydney in the background, shouting:"Just put down the f**king phone and stop being childish. It's not big and not clever."

I know its not my imagination, and its more than mere coincidence, but whenever I bring my mom into any of her doctors for one of her routine/follow-up visits, within several+ months I begin receiving telemarketing calls and/or junk mail for products/equipment in which to aid her in whatever changes or irregularities her doctor(s) may have found in that visit.
For example: Should the doctor detect some hearing loss (due to her age), within several+ months time we will begin receiving numerous telemarketing calls and/or junk mail product info for various types of hearing aids; the same for vitamins/supplement products should some deficiency be detected in her blood work; and calls/mail for other products, aids, or equipment related to any other major/minor malady found at some doctor's visit! That tends to indicate to me that medical info/records which I always believed were supposed to be private, personal, and confidential info between doctor and patient are not at all! It also tends to indicate that either doctor's offices are making what supposedly is to be confidential doctor/patient medical info available to manufacturers/suppliers of various medical products, aids and equipment, and that activity needs to stop; or doctor's computers are not very safe and secure, and unscrupulous hackers have ingeniously found ways to gain access to them and obtain stored personal patient medical records/files/info, in which case then doctor's computers/files need to be made more safer and secure!

Could it just be that marketers are targeting by age?
On an unrelated Doctors practice thought (or if cuzzyman 927 is correct is it?) Recently I have been getting really riled that I cannot get past the receptionist without telling her what I need an appointment for. What the Flock is it to do with her? I have asked the practice manager about this and he said that it was a new policy as the practice has changed, and the receptionist needs to know so she can allocate a long or short appointment, or if it is the Practice Nurse or Nurse Practitioner that I need to see rather than a Doctor, and that if it is the Nurse, she has whatever she needs to hand to deal with me. I said that my medical condition is the concern of me and my Doctor only. He said that if I didn't like it I was free to find another Doctor, and that because the practice now has three and I quote here " Doctors of Asian Origin" was my concern racially motivated, as I hadn't complained once before they came. Who can I line up against a wall and shoot?

I can understand about the age targeting thing, as that often does occur. But to start receiving info within several+ months pertaining to the very thing she went in complaining about or for what the doctors detected at her very last or prior visit?
In addition to the two examples I mentioned above I will give you another -- About a year ago mom was complaining about sore achy legs. The doctor attributed it to poor circulation and some leg arthritis setting in and suggested she take Extra-strength Tylenol for arthritis pain as needed and send her home. Lo and behold within several+ months she began receiving phone/mail info for electric leg stimulating devices, medical leg socks, canes/walkers, and various leg arthritis pain relieving medications/pills! Age targeting? Coincidence? Patient info supplying? Hacking? I don't know, you tell me? The only other possible answer/explanation I can think of would be patient info supplying, leaking, or hacking involving her medical insurance/prescription providers. I don't believe it could be related to the drug store (the chemist for our Britain friends) where she has her prescriptions filled because often times no medications were prescribed.

Ah cuzzyman 827 "drug store" gives me a clue that you are not on this side of the pond (I know I know you said so in the same post) Insurance providers need to make money selling details is not above morality here is it. (Don't get me wrong, I am well ahead of the pack in making money being good, but where healthcare is concerned ........ I like the " not for profit" method as practiced by BU.......PA over here) there are those who think their only interest is profit as they do with all other private providers.
They need to know the facts. With the NHS God forbid anyone should sell details.......... I think I concur with you now. However something else from over there now over here Trick Or Treat. jeez let me eat my Dinner in peace!!!!!!!

Correct Nin, I opted out as well. Daft really as computer modelling really could predict illness, and thus help prevent it. I just can't get my head round giving personal info away. I am sure my kids and grandkids (if I am lucky enough to be blessed with any) will benefit from this.
I won't even give my name in Star....coffee or Pizza Shed. I say "mine will be the one with no name!"

Well it is Halloween here and I detest people who trick or treat when they are obviously way to old. If they feel they to do it go to a party.
