Ironically that film was made by many of the people that worked on the Bond films. Ian Fleming originally wrote it for his beloved son Caspar. If I remember correctly having read it at school, there is one scene where they are standed on the Goodwin Sands-this wasn't put in the film.

He was actually American! He was born in Hawaii of Japanese parents.

Gert Frobe nearly didn't get the part of Goldfinger, because when he arrived they found out that he spoke hardly any English. The producer had been told that he spoke perfect English!
He learnt quickly on set, but as has been stated, he had a very heavy, almost unfathomable accent, so he was dubbed.

Hawaii wasnt part of the USA until 1959, so technically he wasnt born in the USA. Same goes for Barry Goldwater, he was born in Arizona in 1908 when it was still a territory. When he ran for President questions were asked as to whether he was eligible as a President has to be born in the USA.

Kaiser Wilhelm's mother was Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, also called Victoria, and he was in fact Queen Victoria's first grandchild.
What many people, perhaps, don't know about Wilhelm, is that he had a left arm that was several inches shorter than his right! He was very conscious of this, and always tried to conceal this disfigurement by holding a sword hilt or gloves or something similar.
