In the magazine yes, but in one of if not the first Playmate video, Kelly Tough, Oct. '81, shows the good stuff. You have to look closely, but it is definitely there.

*waggles hand* That's a little iffy, IMO (regarding Patti). Certainly, her hair was a bit more sparse around her pussy lips, but she was by no means shaved clean.

The OP's post is very vague as to whether he's asking if the earlier models were shaved or not. I got the impression he wanted to know if they let certain parts of their anatomy be seen by the camera, which Patti did. And Dalene Curtis is the definitive answer to his thread title. She was shaved bare.

Ok, just to be clear I was looking for shaved lips as a minimum. Just updated my earliest; it is now Terry Nihen.
Any list of 70s or 80s lip shavers would be good ;-)

Once again, dang, look to the '70's. If you want visible lip, shaved or not, Patti McGuire is pretty much the first. And some seven of the twelve in '77 showed, starting with Susan Kiger. Not all were prominent, but they did show. Rita Lee is probably the most visible.

If we are talking about shaving pussy then Dalene Kurtis is the first to shave completly. But if we are talking about labia display then Patti McGuire is probably one of the first to show her lips.
There are some great pictures where pl@ym@tes shows her labia.
I remember an amazing picture of Laurie Jo Wood where she shows her pouty labia in a full frontal view. If You like labia You must see that picture!

Marilyn Lange and firsts

To follow up on the discussion of firsts, I’d like to note that Patti McGuire wasn’t the first to throw caution to the wind at PB. Patti’s performance before the camera was stunning—seductive, erotic, and sensual. But so was Marilyn Lange’s, even though PB made it almost impossible to appreciate her performance in her layout in May 1974. They airbrushed a small, black and white version of her seductive photo (note that it's slightly different from the two color versions), and used soft focus and a green tint to obscure the sensuality of her erotic photo (which PB also made small in her layout, and which we've never been able to see in a large electronic format). Marilyn--like Patti, a beauty for the ages—pushed the envelope before Patti did, but PB wasn’t willing to follow her lead. It wasn’t common for PMs in PBs Golden Age to let themselves go the way that Marilyn and Patti did—only a few others come to mind. But I’m forever grateful that they did. It’s no wonder that they’re among the most beloved and admired PMs of all time—the ultimate drop-dead gorgeous girls next door.

I penned a tribute to my favorite PM to express my appreciation for these great performances.

Mine was probably Lynn Schiller in 1975.She was cropped back then, and, i believe was shaven as a playmate of the 70's.
