AMC wasn't limited to lemons with the Gremlin and the Pacer. I learned to drive (and work on) cars on a 76 Hornet. Damn thing stayed broke more than running. It wouldn't go thru a puddle without the alternator shorting out, etc. Totally worthless POS. No wonder AMC disappeared after producing junk like these three models--and they ruined the Hudson Hornet's reputation, too.

Apparently, these old Dodges are often mechanical nightmares, and can be repaired by USA car specialists/fanatics only.. Basically the only thing solid after all those years, would be the 5.2 L V8 engine, which is a good piece of engineering.
Anyway, it would make a perfect target on a heavy weapons shooting range
