I'm a bit of a Floyd nut, so top of the list has to be;

1. The Wall - the first album of theirs I bought and still my favourite.
I could fill the rest of the list with 'More' (it's a Floyd thing) but the rest of the list consists of the first albums of a given group that I bought that got me hooked on their music. In no particular order:

Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door (Jon Bonham died just after this release)
Jethro Tull - Broadsword and the Beast
AC/DC - Back in Black (Special memory, bought for me by the girlfriend I lost my virginity to - mutually)
Rainbow - Long Live Rock and Roll/Rising Double Album
Blue Oyster Cult - E.T.I. (Live)
Hawkwind - Choose your Masques
Ian Dury - New Boots and Panties
Yello - You've got to say yes to another excess
Wall of Voodoo - Wall of Voodoo

I could go on, but with a limit of 10 there ya go

Looking for a favourite, but you don't know her name? There's a thread here, that may help. It's for known models only, don't post requests, or you will be 'Mod-ified.'

What a ludicrous proposition - the list I've left out is huge but this will do. A few notes where relevant:
The Stones: Bedspring Symphony is them at their live best, even better performances than the recent 'Brussels Affair' d/l - Mick Taylor is simply on fire, recorded in Brussels & London 1973
Elmore James 'Blues After Hours' - magnificent sound and includes 'Goodbye Baby' - what more could you want..?
Led Zeppelin: Earl's Court 24 May 1975 - musically, their 1973 European tour was arguably their best but I was lucky enough to catch them on their last Earl's Court gig in 1975. This is the day before, a wonderful balanced soundboard recording and features imperious versions of their best known stuff, including the wonderful acoustic set which turned the cavernous Earl's Court into the intimacy of the local pub tap room. A frighteningly good concert.
Alan Hull: Pipedream the lead songwriter for Lindisfarne, this is a GREAT album, his first solo effort, better than anything produced by the group and a genuinely timeless classic which is loved dearly by those few that have heard it. Go, on, I'm not kidding
Todd Rundgren AWATS - bless him. An embarressment of riches, including 'Just One Victory'.
Talk Talk - Spirit of Eden - near undefinable genius and probably my all time favourite of the lot. Crosses and defies categories and just contains sublime music.
Associates - Sulk The mad combination of the peerless voice of Billy MacKenzie and Alan Rankine's ability to simply ignore boundaries and write Barry-esque pop themes that whirled swirled and worked its own magic.
801 Live - featuring the great Phil Manzanera on guitar with a band that produced one of THE great live albums. Which you've quite possibly never heard. It's very, very, very good.
Robert Wyatt - this is a fine collection, but damn near anything would do. There's a stunning version of 'Free Will and Testament' on Youtube, feat. Paul Weller on slide which everyone should hear.
Rolling Stones - 'Exile On Main St.' They're not even my favourite band ffs, but this is still as good a rock album as anyone is ever likely to make. Essential.

And I left out the Who Live at Leeds, near everything by Eno, the first Roxy Music album, Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake, Howlin Wolf's 'Chess Box'... Burning Spear, Bunny Wailer, Pink Floyd and Miles Davis. Dear lor' I could come up with an entirely different list tomorrow, probably starting with Iggy Pop's 'The Idiot'...good fun though!
