Bob Dylan never could hold a tune in a bag. He was always a world class songwriter though.

This is Knocking On Heavens Door: great great song. But if Dylan hadnt written it himself he would just naturally have been hanged from a lamp-post for doing this to it. His ignominious and violent death for this rendition would have been simply the way things had to be.

And yet...I still listened to the whole performance.

Agree with you great song-writer,lousy singer. The story goes Manfred Mann,a great interpreter of his material, was listening to some demoes of Dylans songs, and asked Albert Grossman,Dylans manager why did he use such a terrible singer to record his demoes,to be told,it was actually his Bobness he was listening to.Oops.

Neil Young ... one of the few vocalists I can sing along with and not sound too bad! His guitar tone is weird too, and there are times when I'm sure he plays four different notes together and lets you pick the one you like best!

What an awesome performer, though! One of the best.

I've already stated as much in a different thread, but what the hell. This can't be said enough in my opinion:
Axl Rose's voice makes my ears feel like they're about to bleed.

Watching him butcher the end of Bohemian Rhapsody at the Freddy Mercury Tribute Concert was a crime for which no current form of Capitol Punsishment would suffice

Totally agree, there's something about the Heavy Rock genre where quality control goes out the window, but there's something about it which redeems itself, anyway here's a few goblins and trolls by the name of AC/DC to add to the mix.

Mark E Smith out of The Fall. Mostly he doesn't even try singing.

Quotes: "I'm Mark Smith, and I shout for The Fall."

and from a song ("Your Heart Out"): "I don't sing I just shout, All on one note."

It's true, as well.

Cool, a rival thread, I like that, keeps the forum fresh

Here is one performer I can take or leave from my country,
Jimmy Barnes

He basically screams, here is an example

Working Class Man

That was a on a quite day a cheap Springsteen.
