Although Vanessa is Puerto Rican as I understand it, so many in the Caribbean, especially Cubans, have intermarried and interbred with blacks that they probably do qualify. Having spent a lot of time in the islands, there is a very fine, grey line between Latin and black. The races have merged as have the cultures in many respects.
