The files aren't always stored with proper video extensions in the cache. You may find them with .tmp or they may simply be a long string of numbers without an extension. When you look through the cache look at the size of the items listed. If you see a file size that may be your video then add an extension like .flv, .avi, etc and try it in your player.

Open your cache viewer before you start the video and do an occasional page refresh. The file you're viewing will change size as it's saved.

I don't use IE, but in FireFox you can name an external viewer to handle video. It is simple enough to then have the external program save the file.
