Georg Philipp Telemann was one of the finest composers during the middle and late Baroque periods. He was a personal friend of both Johann Sebastien Bach , and George Friderich Handel who were themselves masters of Baroque music. Telemann was completely self taught in playing and composing music. He stayed in many German cities, but spent most of his life in Hamburg. He composed music in both the French style, and the Italian style. He wrote much church music and music for a wide variety of instruments. He wrote sonatas, concertos, suites, and solo pieces. This disc has some of his chamber concertos.
