Thumbs up Beach Party Girls

Some of you are no doubt old enough to remember the 1960s--or perhaps not remember the '60s--many more of you I'm sure are younger retro-hounds with a taste for the culture of yesteryear. In either case you may recall the "Beach Party" movies of the era which were all the rage until everyone dosed in "the summer of love" and traded in thier beach balls for tie-dye t-shirts and thier "woody" cars for sugar cubes soaked in acid. But between 1962 and 1967 or so, Hollywood pumped out a bunch of these teen frolic films, populated with young, scantily-clad chicks swinging on the beach, in the backyard pool, in the local hangout cafe, and almost everywhere in between.

Now, while I'm referring specifically to the films released by American International--such as Beach Party, Bikini Beach, Beach Blanket Bingo, Muscle Beach Party, Pajama Party, How To Stuff A Wild Bikini--most of which starred Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon, there were a number of other imitators like Ride The Wild Surf (with Barbara Eden), Palm Springs Weekend (with Stephanie Powers), Ski Party (with Yvonne Craig), and the ultra-wacky Dr. Goldfoot And The Bikini Machine (with Vincent Price).

This thread will be home to the multitude of babes from these various films who were often clad in bikinis, sexy one-piece swimsuits, lingerie, torrador pants, and all the other great female fashions of the era. The main gals you'll see here are:

Candy Johnson
Donna Loren
Bobbi Shaw
Deborah Walley
Mary Hughes
Susan Hart (NOT the porn star)

We'll primarily focus of these lovely ladies, although anyone who appeared in a "Beach Party" or sixties teen-frolic movie is welcome. Even Annette Funicello--who has her own thread--can't help but pop up from time to time. So without further ado...

Candy Johnson--The "bang-bang" dancer herself...
