Johann Joachim Quantz was a flutist, a flute maker and lived and composed during the middle Baroque period. He is consisdered to be the greatest composer of flute music who ever lived. He composed over 500 musical compositions with the flute: flute sonatas, flute trio sonatas, flute concertos and flute solos. He worked mostly in the court of Frederick the Great of Prussia.
