At the end of the following season, Racing again finished in 20th position and suffered relegation to Tercera Division also being immersed in a severe institutional and economic crisis.

Following a players’ revolt and protests from the clubs fans the entire board was forced to resign and former player Juan Antonio Sañudo appointed chairman. The club’s fortunes have improved somewhat since then and they are currently in 2nd position of Segunda Division B.
