Can anyone explain the difference between these two pics in regards viewing online?

They're from Michelle's thread here and are just examples - one for each of my scenarios.

They both allow right click and to choose Open Image in New Tab. The first one, however, doesn't open a tab, it actually opens a file save dialog for me to save the pic locally to my hard drive.

The second picture does open a new tab to view the jpg file.

I have Noscript running in Chrome, to avoid the left-clicking and invoking of ads from Imagebam. This "irritant" has been happening for years and does so on Firefox too. I've tried allowing scripts on imagebam, but that just allows the Click to continue type message and launches an ad tab.
