Here is something I didn't know and in fact some papers were only just uncovered concerning P.L. Travers who if you didn't know was the author of the series of books about Mary Poppins which was turned into a smash-hit film with cartoon inserts and starred Julie Andrews and Dick van Dyke(whom we have forgiven for single-handedly destroying the Cockney and English language)
Anyway some papers of Pamela Travers were found and it stipulated(it is safe to say this was probably her will) that no American should be allowed to appear in any other Mary Poppins film-oops! that's a shame because in the new film Mary Poppins Returns, being shot in London, who should be invited back by Dick van Dyke. It was known that Travers didn't want him in the film but Disney persisted and eventually won her over. If she only knew today and Walt was still around she'd give him a mouthful and it wouldn't be very supercalifragilisticexpialidocious either
