Allow me a "yes, but". Skynyrd's career ran a mere four years, from the release of "Pronounced" in 1973 to " Street Survivors" in 1977 issued just before the plane crash that killed Ronnie Van Zant and Steve Gaines. After the crash they disbanded for 10 years.

But, did you know that the opening act for the Who's Quadrophenia tour was ...... Lynyrd Skynyrd.
