I am not a gun owner but live with a Vietnam Veteran who is.

I have shot 9mm, .22, .38, and M-14 battle rifle from WW1.

I believe that the government should not have a monopoly on firearms.

I tend to agree with L.Neil Smith that the issue is like a Vulcan mind-meld that can separate freedom-loving statesmen from authoritarian politicians.
