I watched it too, but I was a little disappointed by it. I found the minor historical characters more interesting - Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, Arnold Rothstein, Meyer Lansky. The Jimmy character was just too dull. And I thought that Buscemi has really done better work.
It's still worth watching, though. Great to see Gretchen Mol pursuing the two pillars of her acting career, period pieces and nudity. There's a great scene where Rothstein sends Luciano to Atlantic City to get revenge on Jimmy and he winds up in bed with Gretchen. "I'm with his wife," he gloats to Arnold on the phone. "No you're not," Rothstein replies, "you're with his
mother."
