I think your missing the point about Heath Ledger
- its the Academy that chose to raise his status
The academy of EGOs many of whom think they are gods
Seen enough absurd Oscars given to say it isnt about the performance
Awards shows in general are like the google search engine
- who ever pays / hosts lavish parties the most gets to be on top of the world
