Imagine me shouting Bollocks a thousand times because I forgot to post one of the strongest reasons for hating tattoos.
When Hannibal Lecter was caught in the book it was because of a set of books with illustrations of wounds and some matched his victims. Harris did not invent the books; I had the volumes, complete with colour plates. What stuck in my mind was a particular type pf gangrene called Gas Gangrene. The flesh dies below the surface of the skin for various reasons with no visible open wound. After a short time the build up of gas from the suppurating flesh virtually explodes to leave a gaping wound and an apalling stench. Just before the time of venting the surface of the skin which is right at the outer limit of the decay turns black.
I was reminded of it today when I saw a picture of Pink and that large expanse of black on her thigh.
