‘Stigma’, shown on BBC at Xmas 1977, is another in the 8-program ‘Ghost Stories at Christmas’ series to contain a rare topless outing by an actress. This features Kate Binchy in her only topless scene. Kate is the cousin of author Maeve Binchy. Kate must now be in her late 60s but no sign of retirement from acting yet. She recently starred as Granny in the TV comedy series ‘The Revenge Files of Alistair Fury’. Maxine Gordon plays her daughter in this program; she seems to have disappeared without trace after only a dozen shows as an actress.
Historical/geographical note: the prehistoric stones in this program are not props. They are at Avebury (in Wiltshire, UK). Avebury is a less well-known but, in my view, superior stone encampment to Stonehenge (also in Wiltshire of course). My neck of the woods in fact!
