I'm glad that you found the problem, but even though it was not Firefox I must say that since they have developed/added new security measures into their more recent updates I have found/noticed Firefox to be slower and less responsive in navigating. Before opening a page or a site it now seems to go through a "checking" process which has compromised speed and performance. I don't need those assholes acting as my anti-virus, my Kaspersky does it well enough!
