Brian presented a 2 hour show on Saturday mornings called "Sounds of the 60's", which I always woke up to, and listened to as I got ready and drove to the super market, his style was to give a little information about each song, then play it in full, he never talked over a song, nor cut it short, he acknowledged that the music, not the presenter was the star of the show.
Another bit of my childhood gone. Long before "Sounds of the 60s" he presented "Saturday Club" which is where you first got to hear that new record by the Beatles, Kinks, Stones etc. On TV, he presented "Thank Your Lucky Stars" - another ground-breaking show that featured audience member Janice who often uttered the much copied phrase "Oi'll give it foive", spoken in her strong midlands accent.

RIP that gentleman.
