Rumor is that David Gordon Green's Halloween will get it's first trailer this weekend so I thought I would revisit this.
Halloween H20 - 20 Years Later (1998)
- Good but overrated IMO.
- Several wildly different mask are used in the film and while it's not glaring, it's noticeable for sure. Even worse none of them are particularly good. Main mask shows his eyes WAY too much & his hair is comically flared out.
See here...
- The different mask being swapped are all over the film making me ponder just how much footage was scraped that we will never see.
- None of the cast besides Laurie are really fleshed out enough.
- Adam Arkin's character is really likable, wish we got more of him.
- Marco Beltrami's score is good but doesn't really vibe with the franchise's traditional music at all.
- Opening at Loomis's residence is solid & effectively moody.
- Films location in the secluded locked down school worked well.
I'd rank the Halloween films...
> 1 > 2 = 4 >> 3 > 6 (producers cut) > 5 > H20 >> 2007 = 2009 > 6 (theatrical cut) >>> Resurrection
