The problem does seem to vary depending on what time of day I login (GMT). In the morning at say 0830 it is usually bad. I had to refresh the page 5 or 6 times this moring when I clicks on New Posts before the error message went and New Posts were displayed. PM today it does seem a lot better.
I don't know if that helps the tech people in any way, but thanks go to Jenny48549 for reporting it and thanks to the tech people who are looking into the issue.
