My story contains a bit of irony. I think I first discovered VEF via one of the search engines while looking to add to my collection of certain models and performers. There was no reason to register as all the content was free and I knew there was no way I could ever contribute anything. So like most others I was a lurker for some time. Now for the ironic bit. The only reason I finally registered was there was a model id request for which I knew the answer and I had to register to make the post. So my very first post here was to solve a model id request and now who's running the section?
Like others have said this is truly an interactive community. There are people here whom I consider to be friends even though we're in different parts of the world, have never met, and probably never will meet in person. There's even one whom I've wept for
(R.I.P. erdnuss). There's very few people in my 3-dimensional world who could cause that.
