Violent J, from the hip-hop/rock duo Insane Clown Posse, was offered a role in the 2001 film Prison Song (starring Q-Tip, Mary J. Blige and Fat Joe), but he declined because the producers wanted him to play a racist Southern prison guard. He said he would do it, if they allowed him to play the racist prison guard
WITH his trademark face paint. They, of course, said no, and so he too said no. He said had it not been a racist character, he would have taken the role and done it without the makeup. Admitting it may have led to more future acting roles.
In the early 2000s, a wing eatery calling itself
The Chicken Depot opened in North Bergen, NJ. They stole the text, logo, and design of
The Home Depot, the home improvement company. Shortly thereafter they got sued by the company and they were forced to change the logo and textual design. Apparently, many customers, VERY familiar with the Home Depot logo, were confusing the chicken eatery with the home improvement store.
