Yes, honest...that's it in a nutshell.
Tim had no capacity for guile or dissembling - what you saw was what you got. I cannot recall ever seeing him get angry. If there was a setback he would set his face to a look of "Hmmm!?" - he'd then think it through coolly, regroup and find a way that we lesser mortals could get to grips with.
I can almost imagine him facing down Darth Vader with a wagging finger and calmly suggesting a better way of doing things - and he would be diligent and meticulous in putting it into practice.
Of course that left him often underappreciated and slightly vulnerable - he was someone who walked the walk but never talked the talk. As I said, he was a difficult chap to know at first, but as soon as you understood him you found yourself being fiercely supportive of him.
And generous?...the word hardly does him justice.
