I saw it on a documentary on BBC2 some years ago. They showed still images 'cos the footage was too bad to watch. They wouldn't show what they did to kittens. It may not have been china as I didn't see the start of the programme, but it was in the far east.

I saw something similar, it might have been the same program, but they showed everything. A live cat, a noose round it's neck forced down into a cauldron of boiling water.
They pulled it out, flayed it's skin off, and showed the poor thing, it was still alive, just.
Very upsetting viewing, I had no idea it would be so graphic but the people doing the flaying were quite happy to be filmed.
