If it's helpful to bundle questions and answers (because much instruction is necessary/available), we can start a thread about the software in the
tutorial section by using good posts which were added to the discussion thread, or - if you are motivated - you can create a tutorial on your own.
we also can add a crosslink to such a tutorial in the related post where the software is recommended. this keeps information together and the focus over recommendations won't get lost between explanations, questions and pure chitchats.
