I really do not know how I missed this thread, but shame on me for doing so. There I was, popping into the Wank Club thread periodically, but not venturing beyond there until just now.
I am utterly shocked by this news, and all of the comments prior to this shows just how much Tim was loved and appreciated here. He was always helpful in providing information, and helped to fill into those grey memory gaps on many an occasion. Like me he was a fan of the 1980s, and after connecting there I bought a few mags from him.
Some time after that first buy, I bought around thirty editions of Club, and rather than posting them he offered to have me go round to his place and pick them up. Thus I was able to meet the great man, and chat about football in the 1980s. He loved the fact that I had gone to see the Littlewoods Cup Final between Luton and Nottingham Forest in 1989 as a neutral, and ended up supporting the Hatters on that day... Sadly, they lost.
Naturally, he showed me his massive porn archive, which filled one bedroom. All neatly sorted, all catalogued with the same care and precision that he treated his sharing of information here. It was impressive, let's say that. I only hope that all of it will end up in a good home, or be recirculated among fellow collectors and enthusiasts. I am sure this is what he would have wanted.
All in all, Tim was a great guy and I glad to say that he was kind enough to invite me to his home. 51 is not age for somebody like that to be taken away. I can only hope that he is sitting somewhere on a cloud with a big smile on his face, leafing through a copy of
Mayfair.
