Looking in my add-ons manager I see IHG falling under the category of being allowed...for now.
it's not just Imagehost Grabber being affected, if Firefox will go this way you can scrap any XUL-based add-on like Noscript, Greasemonkey or Downthemall as well when you'll use the upcoming Firefox Version 42 and higher.

to be on the safe side i recommend to keep a copy of the installation file for the actual Firefox version and install it / use it only inside a secure environment like Sandboxie. this way you may have a browser which gets insecure over the time but running it inside Sandboxie saves your OS/system/harddrive from any harm - and you can still use the old addons..

and inside your main OS, go on with newer Firefox versions.
