‘Annika’ is the title of this TV mini-series shown originally in the UK in 1984, in the early days of C4. Annika Sellberg herself is a Swedish exchange student (played by Christina Rigner) who travels to the Isle of Wight and develops a relationship with local boy Pete Daniels (played by Jesse Birdsall) who then travels back to Sweden with her. This series developed quite a cult following in its time. I’ve recently acquired a DVD of it, the scene below featuring topless/FF in the Swedish sauna is extracted from that.
The UK actor Jesse Birdsall is still in the business but is probably better-known in the UK for his run-ins with the Police (2 convictions for assault) or as the husband of Gwyneth Strong (‘Cassandra’ from ‘Only Fools and Horses’) than his acting. And according to IMDB the Swedish actress Christina Rigner acted only the once - in this series; no idea what she is doing now. Shame – lovely body!
Non-polyglot VEF members will no doubt be delighted to know that the opening part of the dialogue in this clip which is in Swedish is sub-titled into English! Yeh, right!
